Mother's Day takes Flight

Mom has wanted to see the real Spruce Goose ever since it came to Oregon.  So we went on Mother's Day with James and Jeanette in tow  (pun intended, because they met at Speed's Towing, get it, in tow? any who......)

The Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon is incredible. It is jam packed with originals and reproductions, and everything is completely restored in perfect condition.  There is something from every era.

The Spruce Goose is huge. This is an attempt to get a picture of it with Jeanette and Jody in the frame, but it is only the under side end of the wing.
Inside the belly of the beast. The Cargo hold of Howard Hughes Spruce Goose, which is made of birch by the way.

James takes a biplane for a little spin.

Now off to the space museum in the space shuttle.

Yes Jody, they did land on the moon.
They filled the bottom half of the lunar lander with popcorn so they would know if there was too much radiation near the moon. Ok that's not true, but they did land on the moon.

To infinity and beyond.

Not related to space or air travel, but an amazing part of history to stand in front of.
A section of the Berlin wall. Yes, "the Hoff" could have performed right above this section.

Tulip Festival

We went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in April.
Mom has always wanted to go, so we finally did it this years.
Along with fields of beautiful tulip, they also had a little fair atmosphere.  Wooden shoe rides, Steam engine tractors, a real wooden shoe maker, (quit flirting Mom) and corndogs.

Raevon taking some time to smell to tulips.

Brea and Raevon deep in a tulip wonderland.

Jody tries on a pair of wooden shoes.

Meatball also tried on a wooden shoe.

Steam engines from the turn of the century.

Tape- Take 2!

From boring tape dispenser, I am sick of looking at on my desk, to cute!  I just put strips of all of my different designs on there!
