Pet Sematary

Did you see this movie?  SCARY!

All of the headstones, tombstones and gravestones are in!
We did get one more done, Bubbles the Fish!

Goodbye Kitty Gravestone from Frankenweenie

Mom made this awesome Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas.  He sits right in front of his own tombstone.

Gage Creed 1980-1983.  Too bad someone dug him up!

The Cemetery Is Up!

As you know, we love Halloween!  A few years ago we went to a class at the Davis Graveyard.  They taught us how to make our own tombstones out of foam.  Each year we have been trying to make a few more.  We have quite a little graveyard going now.  We are still working on adding a few more things this year, but here are some photos so far.

Pac Man Headstone

We are having a "Pet Sematary" this year, inspired by the movies Pet Sematary, Frankenweenie,
and the Pet Cemetery at Disneyland.

Brea is working on Sparky's Headstone from Frankenweenie.

Meatball is trying to help!

Zero is coming along.

Pac Man in progress.

The graveyard even has a cat!

Finished Zero

I'll add photos of the finished cemeteries as they are getting finished.  Or drive by the back yard, on Fuller, to see them all set up!

Don't forget to be a Tourist in your own town! Portland Police Museum

There are cool things to see all around you.  You don't have to travel all the way to Darwin, MN to see something awesome. (Home of the World's Largest Ball of Twine!)

We have been cleaning out Grandma and Grandpa's attic.  We recently found Grandpa's Police uniform.  Grandpa (Alvin Neubarth) was an auxilory (volunteer) police officer from the late 50's until the early 70's.    We decided to donate his uniform to the Portland Police Museum.  Some of his items will be on display there soon.

These rusty badges were just thrown into the Willamette in the 40's after the
police switched over to their new style of badges.  I guess they weren't super
concerned about recycling?

Before cell phones, if you saw a crime of needed a cop you had to find one of
these boxes.

I love this old Stop and Go sign.  It looks so cartoony, but they have a picture of
it on a Portland Street.

A Police Motorcycle with a sidecar.  I guess that's where the criminal
would sit after they were arrested?  Or maybe the Police dog?
And yes, that is McGruff the crime dog hanging out in the background.

This is a fun little Musuem on the main floor of the Police station on 2nd Ave.
Downton.  The are Police uniforms for kids to try on, and lots of interesting
memorabilia from Portland's Police History.

1111 SW 2nd Avenue, between Madison and Main streets, just west of the Hawthorne Bridge. Museum entrance is in the first floor lobby.
