Alpenrose Dairyville 2012

Alpenrose Dairyville.  This is one of our favorite Christmas Traditions.  Mom took us as little kids and we went several times through the years.  This year the only kid we could get to come along was Tanner Huber.  We had a great time seeing Story Book Lane and all of their great displays.  Several people made sure to tell us that Dairyville is open Sundays throughout the summer.  And the Ice Cream Parlor will be open!

I LOVE Disneyland!  They are so awesome!  The details in Cars Land are amazing.  Everywhere you look.  The side streets are older pavement and Route 66 is new blacktop freshly laid by Lightning McQueen.  Everything is in the right place and just looks awesome.  Tops of posts are radiator caps.  Buildings are in the shape of radiators! Cozy Cone Motel is a bunch of little Eateries with a real looking Motel office in the middle.  The Tire Tower in front of Luigi's is decorated like a giant tire tree. Railings to keep people out of the shrubbery are guard rails.   I could go on and on! LOVE IT!

We just got back from Disneyland on Sunday.  You know how people always say they need a vacation from their vacation.  That's so true, but them we would probably just go search out some other fun stuff and walk around a ton, and still be tired at the end of it.  I guess we just aren't the lay on the beach type of people!

Ghost Town at Knott's Berry Farm

This trip we went to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm.  We had never been to Knott's before, so it was really cool to see their Ghost Town, Indian Village and Camp Snoopy.  It rained all day while we were there.  Well, rain is a strong word.  Let's call it a strong mist.  The place was like a real Ghost Town.  Some rides were closed because, and I quote, "Rain is getting on the ride and we have no way to get it off."  Heard of a towel or a mop?  Plus the stagecoach was closed because "it isn't safe for horses to be out in the rain."  I wonder what they did in the real old west?  We spent the whole day running back and forth to make it to all of their shows.  The stunt man show and cowboy antics were cancelled due to rain.  But the Indians seemed to know how to handle it.

Over all, pretty cute.  They also have lots of big Roller Coaster type rides.  It seems like an odd mix.  The big rides came in in the 90's when the Knott's Family finally sold out the park.  It opened in the 1930's.  It only cost $38, so a pretty good deal too.
