TAPE!!

I have recently become obsessed with tape.  (Me obsessed with something? Strange!) Here are some pictures of one of my projects.  Pretty soon everything in the house will be covered in decorative tape!

BEFORE - Boring File Cabinet

AFTER - Fun File Cabinet covered in Pink and Chevron Duct Tape!

I covered this file cabinet in matching chevron and pink duct tape.  I used most of the chevron roll and not that much of the pink so a little over one roll.  It took WAY less time than painting. Plus, it looks like it should be filled with rainbows, unicorns and scratch and sniff stickers, maybe some Hello Kitty stuff too.

Goofing around at the Movies!

Last weekend Brea, Mom and I went to the Batting Cages, Goodwill, and the Movies.  We went into Goodwill the same time that K8 was getting off work, and so she came along.  The more the merrier!  We saw Oz, the Great and Powerful.  That movie was awesome, and has to be seen in 3-D!  They do a fantastic job of the 3-D tricks.  Plus, Disney rarely disappoints when it comes to movies.  In the lobby they had a photo opportunity for the new Monsters Inc movie coming out in June. I can't wait to see this! Get your very own Monsters University College ID.  Do you think they will accept a photo of this for a student discount?

I wonder if attending Monsters University will defer my current student loans?

What will our course titles be?  "Scare Tactics", "Health and Hygiene. Why?", "Slime Appreciation"

Mom can't help herself from doing "Model Face" in every photo.

K8's is the best looking for a fake ID!

The Drive In's Last Season ???

Speaking of movies.  A few days ago I saw a story on the news about the 99W Drive In.  Someone had hit the sign and had done some major damage.  That wasn't the important part though.  This year is the last year that movies will be produced on 35mm film.  That means that all theaters must convert to digital projectors, or shut down.  If you haven't been to the Drive In in years and have always talked about going again, this will be the year!  The digital projector costs $80,000 plus equipment and upgrades. Will the Drive In last?  I hope it will, but I plan on enjoying it this summer while it lasts.

We should make a group meet date and go together!  It's so much fun!  They are playing "Creature from the Black Lagoon" on May 17, 18, and 19!

The 99w Drive In is located in Newberg, Oregon, along Highway 99W.  It takes about 35 minutes from our house to get there.  It's $8 for adults.

UPDATE!!!!
The Drive In was SAVED!!!!  They won a new projector from Honda!

Nerd Convention! - I mean, Portland Comic Con!

You may or may not be shocked to find out that we are major nerds.  This weekend we went to the mother of all nerd conventions, Comic Con.  They had it in Portland for the first time, and it was pretty amazing.  We aren't into comics at all, but the con has evolved over the years to include lots of other pop culture fun, which you know we ARE into.  We saw some celebrities and some awesome costumes.  Many of the costumes we didn't recognize.  Mostly from comics or video games.

Bender from Futurama

Car from the movie Death Proof

Michael Rooker and Norman Reddis,
Merle and Darryl from the Walking Dead TV Show!
We also saw Dean Cain (Superman), Matt & Amy Roloff (Little People Big World), Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead), Henry Winkler (The Fonz), Boondock Saints, Spike from Buffy, and a couple more I can't think of now.

Leela, Bender and Fry from Futurama

Iron Man.  This costume was made from Yoga Mats!

Captain America

LARGE Japanese character.  Cool costume!

Batman, Joker, Penguin and Riddler

Somebody from something?

I like the Wonder Woman costume with the Ric Rac and Tutu skirt.

Alpenrose Dairyville 2012

Alpenrose Dairyville.  This is one of our favorite Christmas Traditions.  Mom took us as little kids and we went several times through the years.  This year the only kid we could get to come along was Tanner Huber.  We had a great time seeing Story Book Lane and all of their great displays.  Several people made sure to tell us that Dairyville is open Sundays throughout the summer.  And the Ice Cream Parlor will be open!
